Excursions Funtana

Our recommendation is to plan boat trip along the coast of Funtana. Local travel agencies offers the tourists several routes along the adriatic coast.

Sport Funtana

  • Boat trip to Lim Fjord and Rovinj. This usually includes free fish and free wine on board
  • Plan a one day trip to the Brijuni Islands.
  • By car or bus you can easily travel to Pula, the biggest town of Istria. There you will find many roman sightseeings.
  • Furthermore enjoy the innerpart of Istria too (the so called croatia toscana). Especially Motovun or Pazin are very interesting.
  • Travel to Venice using one of the modern fast boat trips..
  • In Funtana you can enjoy impressive panorama flights. Just travel to the airport of Funtana and ask for current flight plans.

Sport Funtana

Sport in Funtana

Funtana is a paradise of sports-orientated travelleres. Especially the following sports are ideal in the region of Funtana.

Biking Funtana

Every nature lover is free to ride his/her bike across the Eco-friendly bike paths of Funtana. You can ride your mountain or regular bike on any of the three natural tracks of culture and history, each of different length: the short, the round and the long one (alongside the Lim canal through the forrest of Konti, and further). This is the only track in Istria that extends 15 km through pure nature.

Diving Funtana

Istra is not only beautyful in its green, hilly interior and along its ever unfolding coast where the evergreen touches the Adriatic but in the sea world that surrounds it as well. Numerous underwater reefs, which the native people call "šeke", with its vertical cliffs and secret holes, are habitat for many fish and crabs. These "sunken" or never "surfacing" islands are overgrown with flora and fauna in real splendour of color. The curiosity of many divers is attracted by two shipwrecks as well; one battle ship and the other a cruise ship. Along the Porec coastal area, from Novigrad in the north to the Lim Canal and Rovinj in the south, some 20 reefs from four to 40 meters in depth, are attractive for diving. Especially attractive are the"walls" of the vertical cliff of the Kampanil and Tempesta reef and the underwater cave on a small island called Banjole near Rovinj. Night diving and the visits to shipwrecks of sunken ships is a magical experience. There are two protected shipwrecks in this area. One is the Austrian-Hungerian cruise ship the Baron Gautch and the other is a British battleship the Coriolanus where organized diving is permitted.

Speleo Funtana

Meet the mystical world of nature which has been developing for thousand of years, far away from the light of the day and the human eye. Visit the underworld the BAREDINE CAVE. This cave is a treasure chest of stalagmites and stalactites, underworld sculptures created through time by the patient work of water. Such shapes have been created, some of which are exceptional, such as the 10 meter long and high curtains, a very realistic sculpture of Our Lady, the body of a milkmaid called Milka, the leaning tower of Pizza and snowman the torchbearer-who has become the trade mark of our cave.
